| Abstract | A production scheduler usually adds excessive workloads to current shop workloads, because he would like to begin an operation of jobs as possible as early for meeting of customer´s due dates. But the backlog will be increased by the above activity and the leadtime will be increased. Therefore, the customer´s due dates may not be met by the above activity. In this paper, we studied on effects of order release policies to performance of manufacturing systems. Considered order release policies are allowing the delay of order release time, not allowing the delay of order release time and cyclic releasing. Relationship between an order release policy and a shop floor control function were studied, too. According to the outputs of our experiments, using the cyclic release have relatively good tardiness. However, using the allowing the delay of order release time has relatively good throughput under EDD or SPT. |
