| Abstract | In this thesis, an application of modified fuzzy clustering algorithm to classification and coding is presented. First, characteristics of an existing classification and coding systems are reviewed briefly. Then, a method for determining weighting exponent and initial centroids in fuzzy clustering algorithms, these values were considered as given. And fuzzy clustering algorithms were applied to nonbinary data sets. An illustrative example and their experimental results are also given. From the results, when it is applied to data base retrieval, more informations about given query could be extracted faster than the older. |
