Abstract For the good performance, it is important to grasp the traffic line of present works. But it is not easy to grasp in the working process that many workers or vehicles moves at the same time. Up to now, there is no systematic method for collecting the traffic line data as the basic data of the improvements of work. Or we only can collect the data by the power of man. But It spends too much time and is not correct.
This study proposes the method of collecting data that present the position of worker or vehicle based on time using Computer vision system. With a small ball-shaped Marker, it becomes easy to get constant shape image regardless of the position of cameras and object of interest. In this study, the system find the location of object by the pattern matching about the Marker automatically. And it is transformed to the coordinates of real world by Projective transformation.
The system is tested with the sequence images of moving object attached a Marker that moves on track fixed in advance. The experiment results show that the proposed method is useful for finding coordinates of real world at the case of images having fixed background, changed background, changed illumination, and the case of having some obstruction in the images
