| Abstract | Recently manufacturing execution system (MES) require rapid changes, accurate information gathering, and accessibility. By means of emerging technologies like radio-frequency identification (RFID) and Web services, those requirements can be achieved. We propose a framework of ubiquitous MES (u-MES) which is connected to RFID system to gain accurate information rapidly and which provides interfaces via Web services to remove efforts of additional middleware installation. In this paper, we first present the problems of real MES systems, then propose an architecture which uses new technologies like RFID and Web Services. Finally we propose a framework for developing u-MES system. Using the framework of this research, we can easily integrate MES with the information system like enterprise resource planning (ERP) and can make the best use of MES. |
