abstract | In Korea, the damage recovery cost of water side structure accounts for more than 50% of the supplementary budget. Therefore previous studies have targeted the water sided structures to build an effective disaster recovery plan and better manage the recovery resources. However there has been only a little attention paid to collecting and capturing the real-time data. For most disaster recovery process, recovering multiple numbers of damaged sites is common. Therefore it is important to collect the real-time information of the damage, recovery resource, and etc., since these components are essential to make an effective recovery plan. However the dynamic characteristics of recovery process and planning make it difficult to gather such data. This study seeks to design an effective disaster response system using the concept of Internet of Things (IoT) in order to lessen the impact of disasters. For this reason, this study defines and classifies the unexpected situations into cases and presents the architecture of the response system using IoT. Also, we have developed the method to evaluate the recovery resources capabilities and resource allocation algorithm which utilizes the data collected from IoT. Finally a simulation study has been conducted to verify the proposed system. The works from study will help identify the real-time recovery situation with IoT and allocate recovery resources to various damaged areas optimally. |
