abstract The emerging ubiquitous technology is expected to cause profound impact in many areas, e.g. healthcare, logistics and manufacturing. Although not yet prevalent, one of the most promising fields in the application of ubiquitous sensor network (uSN) is the supply chain management. To manage supply chain efficiently, we need to track flows of materials and final products on the shop floor and overall geographic area. However achieving global optimization based on accurate data that are collected in real time has been a vague dream until the concept of uSN developed. Now by using new concepts based on uSN - e.g. the concept of 'intelligent products' proposed by Auto-ID center- it seems possible to not only monitor the conditions of a supply chain but also its performance in real-time. This paper proposes a framework measuring the supply chain performance with the RFID(radio frequency identification) sensor technology and computer vision system to complement the ideas of main global institutes like EPC global of U.S.A. or uID center of Japan. Using the concept of 'intelligent products', real-time information of the product flow will be presented in detail. The characteristics, generation frequency, and the quantity of information will be conceptualized using the semantics of manufacturing practice for data processing. And we will also show the conversion process from this information to performance metrics. Since the framework was developed with due consideration on possible future international standard, the model may work as one possible realization of the SCOR model.
