abstract | With arising issues of environmental pollution and the exhaustion of resources, original equipment manufacturers take responsibilities for environmentally sound manufacturing by regulations recently. They should decide that how much they recycle, which options they take to minimize operation cost and environmental effects while obey the regulation. However, they can’t predict the quality of the returned products, hence planning of recycling activities will not be reliable. Moreover, components of products have all different ages and lives. It means that there could be some components can be recycled more than once. But if the life history of components is not available, recyclable components may be disposed after being recycled once. In this paper, we propose integrated data system using radio frequency identification technology for providing useful information to make remanufacturing efficient. |
