abstract | Title: A Framework for the Measurement of Supply Chain Performance Using RFID Sensors Since the concept of supply chains was first introduced, many researches have been performed to achieve a global optimum rather than local optimum of constituents in a supply chain. One of the most recent result of these studies would be SCOR 8.0 model published by Supply Chain Council in 2006. To specify the performance metric values as suggested by SCOR model, it is required to collect enormous data manually. Therefore the measurement frequency would be limited. Now, utilizing RFID sensor technology and the concept of 'intelligent products' proposed by Auto-ID center, it may be possible to seize not only the supply chain condition but also its performance in real-time. This paper proposes a framework measuring the supply chain performance with the RFID sensor technology to complement the ideas of main global institutes investigating RFID technology e.g. Auto-ID Center, EPC global. Using the concept of 'intelligent products', real-time information of the product flow will be presented in detail. The characteristics, generation frequency, and quantity of the information will be presumed for data processing. And the paper will show the conversion process from this information to performance metrics. Since the framework was developed with consideration of international standard, the model may work as one possible way of the realization of SCOR model. |
