abstract | The traditional descriptions of MRP system almost always assume time buckets, fixed lead time, and infinite capacity. This research presents new MRP method considering capacity constraints and dynamic lead time. This method uses event-driven approach, which schedules all the operations of a job to finite capacity when an order is entered. It also uses BOMfr(Bill of Manufacture) to integrate BOM, routing, capacity and current order status. For each machine's detailed schedule, JOS(Job oriented scheduling) is used. The prototype system has been developed with COM. Data model is represented with UML(Unified Modeling Language). The system consists of MRP LOGIC COM for the MRP system's logic and MRP DB COM for persistent data storage. The modules developed with COM component show higher reusability and maintainability than traditional object-oriented system. |
